Essex & Suffolk Border League Round Up   12-04-14

 

Knock Out Cup Semi Final

 

Holland FC overcame Harwich & Parkeston 2-0 with goals from Dave Chapman and Liam Macklin seeing them through to the final where they will meet Alresford Colne Rangers who travelled to Little Oakley and won 5-0.

 

Premier Division

 

With Harwich away in the cup Tollesbury had the chance to go top, but were denied by Barnston AFC as they were held to a 0-0 draw, but West Bergholt made no mistake as they defeated White Notley 6-1.  Gas Recreation travelled to Coggeshall Town and won 3-0, and University of Essex beat Earls Colne 4-1, with goals from Francis Okolie, Nehms Adigbile and two from Chame Goodlake.  At the bottom Great Bentley had a vital win as they beat Lawford Lads 2-1, and Tiptree Jobserve had a 5-2 win at Dedham Old Boys.

 

First Division

 

Clacton United stopped Alresford Colne Rangers Reserves in their tracks as they beat them 2-0, but Boxted Lodgers failed to take full advantage as they drew 2-2 with Wormingford Wanderers.  Kirby Athletic were rampant as they smashed Panfield Bell 18-1, and Hedinghams United went to Mersea Island and won 3-2.  Bradfield Rovers went to Gosfield Rovers and won 2-1, but Rayne lost 2-1 to Hatfield Peverel.

 

Second Division

 

Harwich & Parkeston Reserves stretched away at the top as they beat Earls Colne Reserves 2-1, but Gas Recreation Reserves failed to overcome Dedham Old Boys Reserves in a 2-2 draw.  Colne Engaine battered Great Bentley Reserves 11-1, and Tiptree Jobserve Reserves defeated Barnston AFC Reserves 5-0.

 

Third Division

 

Team Brantham got back on course with a 4-0 win at Bradfield Rovers Reserves, but Bures United fell to White Notley Reserves 5-1.  FC Clacton Reserves had a 5-2 win at Lawford Lads Reserves, and Gosfield United Reserves won 2-0 at Hatfield Peverel Reserves.
