Essex & Suffolk Border League Round Up   12-10-15

 

Premier Division

 

Gas Recreation put Boxted Lodgers to the sword in a 12-0 romp, and Little Oakley fell to a 5-1 defeat at home to University of Essex.  Holland Fc have taken up the chase of the champions, as they beat Tollesbury 4-2, with two goals from Steve Oldhampstead, and a couple of singles from Steve Eaton and Blake Panrucker.  Coggeshall Town had a 6-0 win at Earls Colne, and White Notley defeated Alresford Colne Rangers 4-2.  Tiptree Jobserve have struggled a bit this season but on their trip to Barnston a 1-0 win was enough to bring them their second win of the season.

 

Division One

 

Hatfield Peverel drew 3-3 at Wormingford & Colne Engaine, but retain top spot, as Gas Recreation Reserves fell to a 2-1 defeat at University of Essex Reserves.  Little Oakley Reserves will feel they dropped points as Elmden Rovers Clacton, held them to a 3-3 draw, and West Bergholt Reserves missed out on a chance to close the gap as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Mersea Island.  Harwich & Parkeston fell to a 2-1 defeat at Hedinghams United, and Gosfield United were disappointed to lose 4-1 to Holland FC Reserves.  In a weekend of draws Alresford Colne Rangers Reserves drew 3-3 with Bradfield Rovers, but Coggeshall Town Reserves doubled their points total with a 3-0 win over Barnston AFV Reserves. 

 

Division Two

 

FC Clacton Reserves crushed Gosfield United Reserves 6-0, to stay clear at the top, and Weeley Athletic moved into second spot as they beat Boxted Lodgers Reserves 4-0.  Cinque Port saw off Tiptree Jobserve Reserves 4-1, and Tiptree Perrywood beat Earls Colne Reserves 1-0.  Team Brantham travelled the short hop to Bradfield Rovers Reserves and got a 2-1 win, and Hatfield Peverel Reserves had a home win as they beat Horkesley 5-2.  Dedham Old Boys Reserves pulled themselves up as they beat Great Bentley Reserves 6-1, and Lawford Lads Reserves had a 3-0 win over Mersea Island Reserves.

 

Essex County Premier Cup

 

It was early exits for two of the leagues sides as Dedham Old Boys lost to Forest Glade 3-2, and Great Bentley lost 1-0 at Sungate.  West Bergholt kept the flag flying as they defeated Ryan 6-1.
