Essex & Suffolk Border League Round Up   20-09-14

 

Premier Division

 

Gas Recreation won the match of the day as first met second and Little Oakley fell to defeat 2-1, allowing White Notley to go second as they beat Boxted Lodgers 4-1.  Holland FC thrashed Tiptree Jobserve 9-0,  and Coggeshall Town hammered Lawford Lads 5-0, on the road.  West Bergholt are hitting their stride after defeating Alresford Colne Rangers 4-0, and Earls Colne travelled to Great Bentley and won 3-2.  Tollesbury were very convincing as they beat Barnston AFC 5-0, and University Of Essex beat Dedham Old Boys 4-0, with goals from Pat Robertson, Xavier Sweeney and two from Jacob Dingli.

 

Division One

 

Gas Recreation Reserves hold joint top spot after going to Elmden Rovers Clacton, and winning 6-2, whilst Hatfield Peverel made the trip to Hedinghams United and won 5-2.  Little Oakley Reserves were held to a 3-3 draw by University of Essex Reserves, but Gosfield United put in a stunning performance to win at Barnston AFC Reserves 6-0.  Wormingford & Colne Engaine made the long trip down to Harwich & Parkeston, where defences ruled the day in a 0-0 draw and Bradfield Rovers crossed the water and drew 2-2 at Mersea Island.  West Bergholt Reserves won 3-0 at Alresford Colne Rangers Reserves and Holland FC Reserves lost out narrowly to Coggeshall Town Reserves 3-2,

 

Division Two

 

FC Clacton Reserves inflicted a first league defeat on Kelvedon Social, 4-1, and Tiptree Jobserve Reserves drew 2-2 with Tiptree Perrywood.  Cinque Port crushed Earls Colne Reserves 8-0, and Weeley Athletic saw off Team Brantham 6-1.  Hatfield Peverel Reserves defeated Mersea Island Reserves 3-1, and Lawford Lads Reserves had a 2-0 win at Gosfield United Reserves.  Bradfield Rovers Reserves are still looking for their first points after the visit of Boxted Lodgers Reserves saw them lose 4-1.
