Essex & Suffolk Border League Report  03-05-08

Premier Division

Gas Recreation finally put their hands on the league title, and celebrated with a 4-4 draw at Team Bury, and West Bergholt snatched second place with a 1-0 win over Tiptree Heath.  Dedham Old Boys still have a chance to move into third place as they beat Hatfield Peverel 3-1, and Alresford Colne Rangers drew 0-0 with Coggeshall Town.  Lawford Lads made it into double figures for the season as they beat Weeley Athletic 4-1.

First Division

Hedinghams United moved into third place with a 4-0 victory over Great Bradfords, and Sudbury Athletic beat Gosfield United 2-1.  Mistley goalkeeper Marcus Bier scored his first goal for the club from the penalty spot as the only point of note in a poor Mistley United performance at Glemsford and Cavendish as Glemsford ran away with the game 6-1.

Premier Reserve Division

Gas Recreation Reserves celebrated runners up spot as they beat Great Bentley Reserves 6-1, and West Bergholt Reserves rounded off their season with a 2-0 victory over Dedham Reserves.  Mistley Reserves also lost at home to Coggeshall Reserves 3-1, Lee Gregory the scorer, but retained their Premier Reserve Division status by virtue of Lawford Lads Reserves defeat at Little Oakley, 7-3.

First Reserve Division

Mersea Island Reserves clinched their first home win of the season, in their last game of the season with a 3-0 win over Clare Town Reserves, but Tiptree Heath Reserves fell 2-1 to Hatfield Reserves.
