League Constitution

Standing Orders

1. The Headquarters of the Essex and Suffolk Border Football

League, shall be at 'Hawthorns', New Farm Road, Stanway,

Colchester, Essex.

2. The League Council shall if necessary meet every first Thursday

in the month at 7.30 pm.

3. If required by the President notice of intended motions shall

be given in writing to the General Secretary.

4. All questions shall be determined by a show of hands, unless,

in the opinion of the meeting, it is desirable that the voting on any

particular point or subject should be conducted by ballot.

5. If the President at any meeting shall be of the opinion that any

motion proposed to be made thereat is of an objectionable

character it shall be competent for him, either before or after the

same is brought forward, to put it to the vote (on which

discussion shall be allowed) whether the same shall be entertained

or not, and if three-fourths of the members present decide not

to entertain such motion, the same shall be disposed of.

6. No member, in any circumstances, shall be allowed to vote at

any Council meeting on any matter relating to the club he

represents. In the event of any dispute  or protest, the

representative of the clubs concerned shall not be eligible to sit

on the Council while such dispute of protest is being considered.

7. No resolution shall be rescinded at the meeting of the Council

at which it is passed, unless the motion to rescind be carried by

a three-fourths majority of the members present and voting.

8. A register of clubs shall be called at all General and Annual

General meetings.

9. Travelling expenses of the Management Committee shall be

defrayed by the League.

10. At the discretion of the President, Officers of the League may

vote at all meetings.

ii. The Financial Year of the Competition shall run from 1st

April to 31st March.
